The annual celebration of Physician Assistants is underway! Every year PAs are celebrated from October 6-12. Advanced Practice would like to wish you a very happy National Physician Assistant Week!

According to the American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA), “PAs across the country use National PA Week to increase awareness of both the PA profession and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.”

On the AAPA site you can watch a video of Representative Karen Bass of California recognizing Nation Physician Assistant Week on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, a free poster, planning guides, and the most recent version of the “I’m a PA” patient education brochure.

They also mention that on Oct. 8, 2013, a group of approximately 200 PAs and PA students from the New York City area appeared on NBC’s “Today” show. I couldn’t find that video, but I did find this similar occasion documented in a video from 2009:

Here’s a link to another site that has some information about Physician Assistants and the week that celebrates them.

Again we hope you have had a very happy National Physician Assistant Week!
